Nick Cosentino, CFP®
CEO & President
Nick is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Financial Foundations. Nick focuses on providing sophisticated wealth planning and investment management strategies to affluent families, executives, and business owners. His goal is to use his broad experience to help his clients maintain their lifestyles throughout their retirement years and pass this success on to the next generation.
Early in his career, Nick identified a need for a full-service investment firm. Nick understood that the only way to provide individuals with the depth and scope of the advice they deserve was to offer a full boutique of financial services. He founded Financial Foundations in 2001 with this mission in mind and created our process: The Personal Foundation Builder®.
As a 20-year participant in Strategic Coach’s mentor program, Nick has gained valuable insight and learned the methodologies of other successful entrepreneurs. He believes this experience has directly impacted the growth and longevity of Financial Foundations.
Describe your role and responsibilities at the firm.
I have always tried to be forward-thinking and, during the early days of Financial Foundation, decided that I wanted to create a firm that would be an industry leader (even though the industry at the time was still evolving!). While my role at the firm has evolved over the past 20 years, my core responsibilities have always included providing financial planning services to clients, mentoring and being a leader for the employees at an expanding firm, and creating a positive impact on the industry.
What is your vision for the future of Financial Foundations?
If retirement is defined as having the freedom to do what you love, then you might say I'm already retired. My passion for Financial Foundations and for growing the firm is never-ending. My goal is to improve and expand the capabilities of the firm so that we, in turn, will be best suited to help you and your family achieve your goals.
Describe your ideal client.
My “niche” client is defined neither by a career type nor account balance. Rather, I strive to work with clients that seek our advice and embrace the collaborative effort essential to holistic financial planning.
What do you enjoy most about being a financial planner?
My clients have various definitions of success – buying that dream home, educating their children, and achieving financial freedom in retirement. My personal definition of success, and what I enjoy the most about my profession, is seeing my clients achieve a greater level of financial confidence and meet their personal goals.
What have you learned since becoming a financial advisor?
I’ve learned that you never learn much when you’re the one talking – you have to learn to listen. Listening is how we uncover and truly understand our clients’ needs, goals, fears, and desires.
What is your favorite travel destination?
I am a native New Yorker and am Italian by heritage. While the United States is a few hundred years old, Italy has a culture that has spanned thousands of years. Going back to my “homeland” was my favorite and one of my most unique experiences.
Finish this sentence: On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…
…cooking breakfast for my kids. One of the things most people don’t know about me is that I have a love for cooking (I already said I was Italian, right?). I like to cook all different kinds of foods. I learned to cook from my grandparents at an early age and, in high school, my first job was cooking breakfast at a coffee shop. I learned how to cook omelets, pancakes, and home fries (I make a mean breakfast!) so on Sunday mornings, when the kids are home, that’s when I get a chance to cook for them and have a family meal.
Charity
I am a proud supporter of many local philanthropies including Easterseals, Children International, City on a Hill, Birthday Wishes, Make a Wish Foundation, and various local community events.

Bryan Amandolare, CFP®, CRPC®
Partner, Senior Wealth Advisor, & Advisor Mentor
Bryan is a Partner, Senior Wealth Advisor, & Advisor Mentor at Financial Foundations. Bryan prides himself on his ability to get to know his clients on a deep, personal level, which allows him to provide thorough financial advice. He believes in holding himself just as accountable as his clients for their long-term success. Bryan is committed to performing diligent research, immersing himself in the details, and delivering an integrated approach to wealth management.
Bryan joined Financial Foundations in 2004 and has since been recognized as a top financial advisor in his field*. Early in his career, Bryan was a trader with John Hancock. He loved being a trader, however, he felt a strong desire to work with and assist clients on a long-term basis.
Bryan has the support of his beautiful wife, Kristine, their two children, Anthony Joseph (AJ) and Alexa Leigh, and their dog, Axel.
What qualities make you best suited for what you do?
I have incredible attention to detail and believe in holding myself just as accountable as my clients do. I hold myself to very high standards and want to ensure that I deliver superior service to my clients while also making certain that I deliver on the expectations I set forth for them.
What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
I cherish the relationships I share with my clients. I believe it is important to be genuine and to know my clients on a personal level. Many of my clients look at me not just as their financial advisor, but also as a friend – someone they can talk to and lean on for advice. We always say we want to be our clients’ first call, and I truly mean that. Financial planning is not just about numbers and dollars, but about the holistic plan of helping clients and their families achieve their goals.
What is a typical day like for you?
One of the reasons I love this business so much is that no day is ever the same. My day could be comprised of meetings in the office, meetings over the phone, or meetings in person during travel days. On any given workday, I could be helping my clients plan for their children’s education, lease a car, buy their second home, or get ready for retirement. As a financial advisor, I need to be able to assist individuals with an array of financial situations and life goals.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
Nothing gives me more enjoyment than watching my kids play sports. I played Lacrosse in college, and I still try and go to the gym and work out every day. I like to grill steaks, chicken, and fish with family and friends on my back deck.
What was your proudest moment?
I'm incredibly passionate about awareness and fundraising for pediatric cancer. My daughter, Alexa, is a cancer survivor, and my proudest moment was competing in the Boston D-10 and raising more than $30,000 with my team members for Dana Farber Cancer Institute. We could not have hit those milestones without the incredible generosity and support of my clients, friends, and family, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Jason Reesey, CFP®, AIF®
Managing Partner & Senior Wealth Advisor
Jason is a Managing Partner and Senior Wealth Advisor at Financial Foundations. Jason values honesty and integrity, and these principles guide him with his clients and in his role as a member of our leadership team. Jason understands the dynamics of high-level corporate environments and helps to advise and create solutions for individuals with complex financial situations. He frequently works with executives, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals seeking holistic financial planning.
Jason began his career in the financial services industry at Commonwealth Financial Network® where he was the bicoastal director of retirements. While at Commonwealth, Jason built relationships with many financial advisors, leading to his desire to become one himself. Recognizing the need for specialized advisors to help manage the wealth of successful individuals, Jason joined Financial Foundations to pursue his goal of providing this valuable insight.
Jason and his beautiful wife, Kerri, have three active boys.
What is a common challenge that you are best able to help solve?
One of the most common challenges that I encounter is what I call cocktail napkin math. This decision-making process happens when a major decision is based hastily or only on easily available information – essentially, an incomplete picture. One way I help my clients plan and build confidence is by uncovering all of the pieces of the puzzle and identifying the best path to achieve planned milestones.
What do you do when you’re not in the office?
Outside the office, I can usually be found coaching my sons, building and riding mountain bikes, or enjoying the great outdoors with my family.
Finish this sentence: On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me…
…on the sidelines of my boys’ lacrosse field or strapping on my skates to coach their hockey teams.
Do you volunteer? If so, where?
My wife, Kerri, and I believe that sharing our deepest values with our children is an ongoing effort; each year, as a family, we participate in several activities to give back to our community. This has included delivering Thanksgiving meals, volunteering at local food pantries, and helping youth athletes. As our boys grow, so too do our ways of giving back.

How did you get into financial planning?
While completing my master's degree, I took my first steps toward a career in financial planning as a tax intern at Financial Foundations. Throughout this internship, I was invited to sit in on meetings and I watched as senior advisors and clients conversed about their financial future. It was in those meetings that I realized I wanted to pursue a career in financial planning.
Can you share one secret to success that has been helpful to you in your career?
Being raised in a very entrepreneurial family, I was taught early on that hard work is a precondition for success. Especially when times get tough or I am faced with a challenge, I truly believe that hard work and motivation are the keys to success.
Why did you decide to become a financial advisor?
I am a planner by nature. You should see my calendar! I am always organized, prepared, and planning for the unexpected. The way I see it, financial planning is one of the only careers where you can help prevent something from happening (i.e., running out of money) and navigate (financial) success.
What is your favorite hobby?
I’m a huge travel enthusiast! Every year, I visit my family and friends in Greece. I also enjoy exploring new places and try going somewhere that I’ve never been before. One of my favorite travel destinations has been Dubai.

I genuinely enjoy working with people. Financial planning can be complex, and important details can get lost in long email threads. I prefer picking up the phone and having a direct conversation to make sure nothing is misunderstood. Strong relationships are built on clarity and trust.

Sam Quoos, CFP®
Wealth Planning Associate
Sam is a Wealth Planning Associate at Financial Foundations. As a wealth planning associate, he enjoys helping clients navigate the stressful aspects of their financial lives. Before joining the firm, Sam spent 8 years on the audit team at Commonwealth Financial Network where he traveled to different offices to help with their compliance needs. It was through this position that he realized he wanted to make the change from a back-office role to something client facing, while still having the opportunity to help people. Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his family and his Staffordshire terrier.
How did you get into financial planning?
After college I joined a small broker-dealer out of Lynnfield, MA and there I obtained all my licenses as I worked my way up from data entry, to opening new accounts processing transfers and eventually approving new business. When the broker dealer was bought and sold, I joined the audit team at Commonwealth Financial Network where I was the for 8 years getting to travel to offices and assist them with their compliance needs. It was through this position that I realized I wanted to make the change from a back-office role to something client facing while still helping people.
Can you share one secret to success that has been helpful to you in your career?
I think to be successful you have to be genuine and want to improve every day. There are two quotes that I really like are “It’s the little things” and “A goal without a plan is just a wish”. Little actions accumulate in a big way so that when you look back it can seem are to imagine where you started.
What is an interesting fact about you?
I have run 4 marathons and counting.

David Anderson, CFA®, CFP®
Manager of Portfolio Strategy
Dave is Manager of Portfolio Strategy at Financial Foundations. He heads the investment research process and works closely with the firm’s wealth advisors. He is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and managing investment portfolios to ensure cohesion with each client's financial plan. Dave is an integral member of the investment committee and acts as a liaison with the firm’s institutional partners.
Early in his career, Dave worked as an associate advisor and attained the CFP® certification. Pursuing his passion for financial markets and investing, he has taken on additional analytical responsibilities and is a CFA® charterholder.
Dave lives with his wife, Briana, in the MetroWest area. He enjoys traveling and is an avid car enthusiast.
Why did you decide to become a Manager of Portfolio Strategy?
The first step in my career was down the path of a financial advisor. I got my certifications, assisted senior advisors, and helped clients plan for their financial futures. However, I found that the numbers – the accounts, the investments, the markets – could speak just as clearly as our clients; I have since taken on more analytical responsibilities as another way to help our clients achieve their goals.
What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
There is so much information out there; a big challenge is finding what’s useful and what’s just “noise”. I enjoy gathering information, deciphering and making sense of it all, and creating solutions that are understandable and actionable.
Something about you that others may be surprised to know:
I dedicated a decade to the sport of rowing and have experienced it from all sides – as a competitor, a coach, and an official (referee). I learned a lot about the importance of preparation, teamwork, and endurance; I also learned to exist in some seriously wet, windy, and cold conditions.
If we went to happy hour, what would you order?
Never the same thing twice. I think trying new things is just too much fun (this goes double if we’re talking about food).
If wealth management were an ocean, what kind of creature would you be?
An octopus. I enjoy keeping a complex number of things in order. Also, I’m told that I’m all legs.

How did you get into financial planning?
I began my finance career with Capital Growth Management (The CGM Funds) in Back Bay, Boston, MA. Though I had graduated from Bryant University with a degree in Marketing, my experience with The CGM Funds introduced me to – and hooked me on – the world of financial investments. After 2 ½ years with The CGM Funds, I joined the team at Financial Foundations to work more closely with clients and focus more specifically on wealth management and financial planning.
What do you most enjoy about helping clients?
I’d spent over a decade in the hospitality industry, helping to identify and tend to the needs of my clients, before entering the field of financial planning. Though the needs of my clients may have changed – from food and wine to planning for retirement or education expenses – I have always enjoyed working with clients and helping them to fulfill their wants, needs, and goals.
Do you have any nicknames?
With too many kids named Alex on my sports teams and Figueiredo too long to shout, the nickname “Figs” was born. And yes, I enjoy the fruit too!
If we went to happy hour, what would you order?
Having tended bar for many years, I love making old fashions! I have a serious sweet tooth and I enjoy the blend of sugar and bitters…with just a hint of smokiness.

What do you enjoy most about your role / responsibilities in the firm?
I value the way our team focuses on understanding and supporting each client’s unique needs. I enjoy bringing that same approach into my daily tasks. This role asks for adaptability, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow in that area.
What do you most enjoy about helping clients?
I’ve always felt that the best way to understand a region’s culture is to talk with the people who call it home. As a transplant from the Midwest, every conversation with our clients—whether on the phone or by email—helps me learn more about the East Coast.
Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Northern Illinois, the prairie state. It’s a beautiful region, with a unique ecosystem. The long grass prairies of the region provided great soil for farming, and the portions that have been preserved and restored over time were beautiful. Growing up in a landscape that is often underappreciated taught me to appreciate the unique biogeography of each state I have lived in. The coastal wetlands and soft, rolling forests of Massachusetts are gorgeous, and I look forward to continuing to explore the natural beauty of this state.
Finish this sentence. On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me...
At a Pilates class or watching soccer with my family and friends.

I’ve been a fan of Liverpool Football Club since 2019, after watching a significant game against Barcelona FC. Liverpool played so well that I started watching their games and fell in love with the attitude and attacking style of the club. YNWA.
What causes are you passionate about?
I love the outdoors and love anything that promotes outdoor activities, whether it’s a sport, gardening, trail maintenance, or hiking.
