Professional Athletes
Financial Foundations is one of the only independent financial planning firms in Massachusetts accredited by the National Football League Players Association’s Financial Advisors Program, a registered program designed to provide unbiased financial care and advice to the members of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). The NFLPA includes every professional football player, active or retired, on every team in the NFL. It is the first such program in professional sports.
Professional athletes typically earn high salaries for relatively short periods of time and must therefore find ways to spread their earnings over the years after their sports careers have ended. The danger is that most are inexperienced as investors. The NFLPA program addresses these unique issues.
Building on its experience and success with the NFLPA program, Financial Foundations is now making similar services available to high-income professional athletes in other sports throughout the country.
